Existing Conditions

Religious institutions and other civic buildings provide additional locations for services, civic activity and interaction. The Dublin area is served by at least 40 religious institutions, many of which have undergone tremendous growth in the past few years. Several religious institutions, lacking adequate facilities at the present time, hold services within public school buildings and other public institutions. Religious institutions and other civic uses are needed for every community and are an important social and quality of life factor. While Dublin has many religious institutions of varying denominations, a growing population will require planning for how additional services can be provided in the future. The growing size of religious places of worship also necessitates balancing the needs of religious institutions and residential neighborhoods.
