As City staff drafts revised text, tables, figures and maps, the proposed amendments will be posted to this website. You will be able to compare the draft changes to the existing Plan and provide feedback on each item.
Amendments will be drafted, posted online and forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Commission for review in the following order:
- Technical Amendments
- Policy Language Amendments
- Special Area Plan Amendments
- Policy Map Amendments
Where amendments to the Future Land Use Map, Special Area Plans and the Thoroughfare Plan are being considered, focus meetings will be held with affected residents, property owners, business owners and other stakeholders to obtain feedback and guide the planning process. Proposed amendments to these items will also be posted to this website for public review and feedback. Periodically, public open house events will be held to provide an opportunity for the public to review the status of proposed Community Plan amendments, ask questions and provide direct feedback to City staff.
Once each category of amendments has been reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission, a complete draft of the amended Community Plan will be prepared and publicized for public comment. The public input obtained during this comment period will be forwarded on to the Planning and Zoning Commission with the full draft of the proposed Community Plan amendment for their review and recommendation to City Council. A final draft of the amended Plan will then be forwarded on to City Council for adoption. Each of the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council meetings will provide additional opportunities for the public to provide feedback directly to Commission members and Council members.
